Little Lies We Believe About Priorities

Women assume many roles in their day to day life. Mother, daughter, sister, friend, lover, nurse, cook, cleaner, are just some that come to mind. These roles, the switching of hats can make us easy prey to certain deceptions. I wonder if this can also be said of men as they have their own roles too, in which they need to fill. Father, brother, son, friend, co-worker, lover, are some hats a number of men have to assume every day. This can be quite a grueling and tiring exercise. 

As a mother, wife, cleaner, nurse, employee, and blogger there are days I feel it… this complete and total lack of energy as well as motivation because to me, there just never seems to be enough time to do everything I need or want to get done. 

Is actually true though?

¹⁰ For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Contrary to what we may do, say, or believe there is always time for God. 

What We Believe About Priorities

One of my own personal challenges is finding time for God each and every day. Even something as small as a few minutes in prayer can seem like a huge hurdle to leap when I allow myself to become emersed in chores, parenting, errands, work, and even relaxation. 

Can you relate? The big pickle here is, we ideally, should never be too busy for our Creator. Some of the lies that keep us from realizing our priorities are:

• I Do Not Have Time To Do Everything I Am Supposed To Do
• I Can Make It Without Consistent Time In Prayer
• A Career Outside The Home Is More Fulfilling Than Being A Wife and Mother (Husband and Father)

God First

“God First”

Whenever I seek God first,
I cannot believe my eyes
the first thing I can see . . .
is right though Satan’s lies.

When I put God’s kingdom,
straight ahead of me
it open’s up my heart . . . .
to the way I ought to be.

Whenever I put God first,
I gain spiritual insight . . .
everything looks different
in the newness of His light.

Making His righteousness,
a priory in my life . . . .
helps me to overcome
anything causing me strife.

When I seek God first,
I see things differently
when I first put God . . .
all things look heavenly!
